SlightDirty Tour At Live Oak Bank Pavilion In Wilmington, NC 7-27-2024

The 2024 Slightly Dirty tour with co-headlining reggae bands Slightly Stoopid and Dirty Heads played in Wilmington, NC July 27. The venue was a perfect setting for the show being right on the water. The SoCal vibes the bands bring translated perfectly with the North Carolina water behind the stage. The weather finally held off for Saturday, with beautiful lighting, clouds and a decent temp. The night couldn’t have been better for the show.

Common Kings and the Elovaters joined Slightly Stoopid and Dirty Heads on this leg of the tour. The stacked bill and cloud of smoke that carried its own torch this weekend felt like a festival with a one-love type of night with the crowd.

The Elovators came on first and warmed up the crowd with their energy. Their latest single features Jared Watson of Dirty Heads and is out now. Lead singer Jackson also joined Dirty Heads for Constellation where he really featured his amazing vocal range, and then joined Slightly Stoopid at the end of the night with Common Kings.

Common Kings was next on stage, and it was hard to not smile when they came on with their guitar player flashing his pearly whites, and their bass players luscious locks blowing back in the wind with his sweet licks on the strings.

Dirty Heads’ set started right at 7:45. The sun was setting, giving the stage an extra golden glow. Their entire set was just a vibe, for lack of better words. The loaded percussion and brass laden band brought the party music to Live Oaks Pavilion, playing all their hits that had the audience singing every tune. The set slowed down just a bit for “Constellation” where Jackson from The Elovators joined. Most of their set had fiery lighting and images or beachy waves, bringing the SoCal beach to NC, but this song stood out against the rest of their set. Firstly, with Jackson joining them and showcasing his vocal range as he demonstrated some arpeggios. The lighting also changed to stars to aptly go with the theme of the song, but it turned the venue into a starry wonderland.

Slightly Stoopid was another vibe the audience was feeling. The stage was lit with botanical imagery, which was accompanied by a haze coming from the crowd. It’s hard to put into words the experience of their whole set, but aside from just vibing, their set was an incredible collaboration where Chalie 2na was featured on a song, then Common Kings, The Elovators and Chali 2Na again joined for the final song.

All four bands that performed were such a compliment to each other. The energy and sound of each band was unique, but supported the energy and music of the other bands so well. I couldn’t imagine seeing another show with either of these bands without the bands on this current tourn now.

The SlightDirty tour has a few more dates, and there couldn’t be a more perfect show to see this summer. Follow either band for tour dates and to get tickets today!
