The Delmarva Shorebirds closed out their road series in emphatic fashion, cruising to a 9–2 victory over the Fredericksburg Nationals at Virginia Credit Union Stadium. Powered by early offense and a stellar outing from starter Yeiber Cartaya, Delmarva snapped Fredericksburg’s four-game win streak and claimed the finale with authority.
1st Inning: Delmarva wasted no time, plating four runs. Raylin Ramos opened the scoring with an RBI single, then scored on a wild pitch. Fernando Peguero capped the rally with a two-run single to make it 4–0.
2nd Inning: The Shorebirds added two more. Yasmil Bucce doubled down the line to score Maikol Hernandez, and Ramos drove in his second run of the night with a single, pushing the lead to 6–0.
3rd to 6th Innings: Both teams were held scoreless as Cartaya settled in and Fredericksburg struggled to generate offense.
7th Inning: Delmarva extended the lead to 8–0. Joshua Liranzo doubled home Elis Cuevas, and Peguero added his third RBI with a groundout.
8th Inning: Bucce launched a no-doubt solo homer—his eighth of the season—to make it 9–0.
9th Inning: Fredericksburg avoided the shutout with two late runs, but the game was well out of reach.
