Phantoms Strike Back: Shorthanded Brilliance Stuns Hershey in Game 2

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms bounced back in Game 2 of the Atlantic Division Semifinals, defeating the Hershey Bears 3-1 at Giant Center. The game was defined by special teams, with the Phantoms scoring two shorthanded goals to even the series. The Phantoms evened the series 1-1, heading into Game 3 on May 4 in Allentown.

First Period
A defensive battle with neither team finding the net.
Hershey controlled possession, outshooting Lehigh Valley 8-5.
Both teams played physically, with Garrett Wilson (Phantoms) and Ivan Miroshnichenko (Bears) receiving roughing penalties at 7:09.

Second Period
Anthony Richard (Phantoms) broke the deadlock at 18:41, assisted by Nikita Grebenkin and Helge Grans.
The Phantoms maintained their defensive structure, with Parker Gahagen stopping all 13 Hershey shots.
A major turning point occurred at 4:49, when Garrett Wilson (Phantoms) received a five-minute major and game misconduct for boarding Hershey’s Nicky Leivermann. Hershey failed to capitalize on the extended power play.

Third Period
Zayde Wisdom (Phantoms) scored two shorthanded goals, first at 2:05 (assisted by Jacob Gaucher and Adam Ginning) and again at 6:34 (assisted by Elliot Desnoyers and Helge Grans).
Alex Limoges (Bears) responded with a power-play goal at 2:50, assisted by Ivan Miroshnichenko.
The Bears pushed hard but couldn’t overcome the Phantoms’ strong penalty kill.
