Mushroomhead

Mushroomhead, the iconic and enigmatic alternative metal band hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, are wrapping up their current fall tour. The tour made its stop at the Tally Ho Theater in Leesburg, VA on Wednesday night. Fans lined up around the block to celebrate thirty years of one of their favorite bands. Mushroomhead didn’t disappoint, taking the stage in their signature masks, they quickly set the tone for the night kicking things off with “A Requiem for Tomorrow.” Mushroomhead’s lineup includes two vocalists and two additional percussionists on water drums that add depth and complexity to their unique blend of metal and rock. As Mushroomhead delved into their setlist, the audience was treated to a combination of hard-hitting metal, industrial, and alternative rock. The band played a mix of their classics and newer material, catering to both longtime fans and those who might be new to their music. They managed to strike a balance between their heavier, aggressive tracks and more melodic, emotional songs. Songs like “Solitaire/Unraveling,” “Qwerty,” and “Sun Doesn’t Rise” were met with enthusiastic responses from the crowd. Vocalist Jackie LaPonza joined the guys on stage for an incredible performance of “The Heresy,” and “Madness Within.” Another highlight of the night was the Pink Floyd cover of “Empty Spaces” before things wrapped up for the night with “Born of Desire.”
