Greta Van Fleet brought their electrifying blend of classic rock and modern energy to Capital One Arena, delivering a night of music that showcased their incredible talent and undeniable stage presence. The band is currently touring in support of their latest release, Starcatcher, the third release from the Michigan based band. The album quickly shot up to the eighth position on the US Billboard 200 charts. The setlist was full of songs from Starcatcher with seven songs in total making the setlist which was broken into three segments.
The night kicked off with a bang as the curtain dropped and Greta Van Fleet got things started with “The Falling Sky” which quickly heated things up for the night with huge amounts of pyrotechnics. Fans were treated to an almost fifteen minute extended version of “Lover, Leaver (Taker, Believer)” which saw guitarist, Jacob Kiszka show case his abilities on guitar. Jacob brought out the acoustic guitar for an extended intro to to “Heat Above,” which included “Norwegian Wood/Meeting The Master.” Josh Kiszka’s powerful vocals, often compared to Robert Plant’s, filled the arena with raw energy on “Highway Tune.” From there it was Daniel Wagner’s turn for the spot light as he wrapped up the first segment of the night with a drum solo. From there things moved to a smaller stage out in the audience where the band performed a three-song acoustic set consisting of, “Unchained Melody,” “Waited All Your Life,” and an amazing version of “Black Smoke Rising.” The guys then returned to the main stage to wrap things up for the evening with “Fate of the Faithful,” “Sacred the Thread,” and “The Archer” Greta Van Fleet returned to the stage for a two song encore that wrapped up with “Farewell for Now.”
