Flyers Top Bruins In OT 3-2

The Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Boston Bruins 3-2 in overtime on September 28, 2024, in a preseason matchup. The game was closely contested, with each team exchanging goals through regulation before the Flyers claimed victory in extra time.

The Bruins struck first with Hampus Lindholm scoring in the first period, assisted by Andrew Peeke. The Flyers quickly responded, with Rasmus Ristolainen netting a goal, tying the game at 1-1 by the end of the first.

In the second period, Boston regained the lead on a short-handed goal from Matthew Poitras, set up by Trent Frederic. However, the Flyers countered again, with Matvei Michkov scoring on the power play to make it 2-2. Michkov went on to be the hero in overtime, scoring the game-winning goal, his second of the night.

Key players in the game included Matvei Michkov for Philadelphia, who recorded two goals, including the overtime winner, while Travis Konecny assisted on two of the Flyers’ goals. On Boston’s side, Lindholm and Poitras each had a goal, and Poitras also contributed on the penalty kill with a strong short-handed effort.

The Flyers’ Ivan Fedotov had a solid performance in goal, helping Philadelphia secure the victory, while Boston’s defense, led by Lindholm, kept the game close throughout regulation.
