Rocktoberfest 2022 happened October 20th aboard MCAS Cherry Point. This is a free beer and rock festival for Marines, Sailors Base Personnel and their families. This year’s festival featured Shallow Side and Black Stone Cherry.
Shallow Side’s newest single, The Worst Kind had its Octane debut on their Test Drive just that day, and hour before they performed.
Black Stone Cherry made this a special stop in between a short weekend break coming off their European tour and their upcoming Canadian tour with Steel Panther and later joining The Darkness.
Through both sets, the crowd was singing with every song and rocking hard with fans of all ages, from school age, to young marines to retirement age. The mosh pit was a show in itself with fans being tossed in the air, gaining more air than I’ve ever seen in the pit.
